Frequently Asked Questions

How Do I Take Care of My Tattoo?

To properly care for a new tattoo, you should first remove the bandage and gently wash it with antibacterial soap and warm water, patting it dry with a paper towel. Keep the tattoo clean, moisturized, and protected from the sun during the healing process, typically a few weeks. Avoid picking at scabs, soaking the tattoo in water, and prolonged sun exposure.

How Do I Take Care of My Piercing?

To properly care for a new piercing, it's crucial to keep the area clean, avoid touching it unnecessarily, and allow it to heal undisturbed. Regular cleaning with saline solution, avoiding harsh chemicals, and not rotating the jewelry are key steps for a healthy healing process.

What is Second Skin/Tattoo Bandage?

"Second skin" refers to a breathable, waterproof, adhesive bandage used as a protective layer over a fresh tattoo. It's essentially a medical-grade film that acts as a barrier, shielding the tattoo from bacteria, dirt, and friction while promoting optimal healing conditions. This method aims to speed up the healing process and reduce scabbing and irritation compared to traditional methods.

How to Remove Second Skin/Tattoo Bandage?

Remove after 3-5 days unless it starts to peal off on it’s own, if so go ahead and remove to avoid bacteria getting under the bandage. To remove the tattoo bandage, find an edge of the bandage and gently peel it back over itself in the direction of hair growth, ideally in the shower. Warm water helps loosen the adhesive and makes the process more comfortable.

What Do I Do if My Tattoo Looks Infected?

If your tattoo or piercing appears infected, it's crucial to seek medical advice promptly. While some minor issues can be managed at home, more serious infections require professional treatment. Start by cleaning the area gently with mild soap and water, but if symptoms worsen or persist, consult a doctor or go to urgent care.

What Do I Need to Do to Prepare for My Appointment?

Stay hydrated, and eat a solid meal beforehand. Avoid alcohol or blood-thinning medications for at least 24 hours before your appointment. Hair will need to be removed from the area where the tattoo will be, if you would like you can go ahead and shave the area or we can shave it when you come in.
